This is a grogeous Babe Ruth game used bat comes from a label that was used between 1923-1930. This particular bat is known as a 40K model. The 40K model had a "kork" grip that wrapped around the handle of the bat. It is a very scarce model for Babe Ruth as he is only on record to place an order of those bats in 1923. This would line up with the label timeline as well. The comes in at a very robust 36 inches and 42.5 oz which at that point is basically swinging a tree trunk. The size and weight of this bat matches exactly to orders that were placed. It shows heavy use with ball marks on the left side of the barrel as well as cleat marks on the bat. The right side of the bat shows little to no use which is exactly what you would expect from a Babe Ruth gamer. The 40k model was released as a retail bat as well however one of the distinguishing characteristics of the retail model and the professional model is on a retail model the length of the bat was stamped into the knob of the bat. This particular bat is hand turned with professional grain wood with no inch markings on the knob.
This bat has been authenticated by Mears with a grade of an A7. It received 5 points for matching factory records but only received 2 points for use even though it says it has heavy usage with heavy ball marks.
