This is a simply an incredible piece of history that shouldn't exist at all. The Babe Ruth autograph was acquired on November 5th, 1926. The Ty Cobb autograph was acquired on January 15th, 1927 and the Walter Johnson autograph was obtained on February 1st, 1927. This is extremely significant for a number of reasons. The first reason is that when the Babe Ruth signature was acquired the person had the fortitude to shut the autograph book up instead of having it signed by all the rest of the players. Back in 1926 you just wouldn't do that. You would just keep the page opened and get any autographs you could on the page. Another reason why it is significant is that these players weren't all in a charity dinner or something where you could get them all at once. It was deliberately done to get these three legends on this autograph album page. The last reason it is significant is that these are all playing day signatures. There is always a premium on playing day signatures, especially pre-war vintage.

So not only should it not exist for the reasons listed above but then by pure happenstance these three were the first five elected into the Hall of Fame with Ty Cobb getting the most votes and Babe Ruth getting second. The amount of things that had to go right for this piece to be such a piece of baseball history is unfathomable.

I don't even need to get into the accolades of these three baseball legends. From Babe Ruth completely changing the game into a homerun favoring offense to Ty Cobb having the highest career batting average to Walter Johnson being the first flame throwing pitcher in the history of the game is just the tip of the iceberg for these players.

This piece comes slabbed in a PSA Extra Large encapsulation. It also comes with a LOA from PSA. Accompanying it is also a full letter of authentication from JSA.
