This is a payroll check from the Chicago Cubs to Hall of Fame pitcher Grover Cleveland Alexander. The check is dated Sep 30, 1919 which is 2 days after Alexander pitched the last game of the season solidifying having the lowest ERA in the league that year at 1.72. From 1915-1920 he lead the league in ERA 5 of the 6 years. His signature is extremely scarce and even finding a common check that was signed by him is impossible to find let alone a payroll check that was made out to him a couple days after the season ended.

It has been encapsulated by PSA.
