Being a payroll check the signature of Bill Veeck adorns the front of the check. The year is quite significant because it was the last of his 3 pitching Triple Crown winning seasons. To say Grover Cleveland Alexander signed items are scarce is an extreme understatement and couple with the fact its on a payroll check from his Triple Crown season is folklore.

PSA averages out the grades of all the signatures on the pieces and with the Veeck signature a bit faded and the Jaeger signature also not perfect would bring down the grade of the piece.
