Napoleon complex is something we've all heard which is in reference to Napoleon Bonaparte and is a vertically challenged man who is overly obnoxious to compensate for being short. However as history has a bit of having a sense of humorous irony it turns out that Napoleon Bonaparte who was short in today's standards was actually average height back then. This is a wonderfully displayed document written and signed by Napoleon and displayed with a vintage copy of "Campaigns of Napoleon." This document reads as follows translated from French:
"Lyon 20th of May year 10 of the French Republic To the minister of war, The troops assembled at Rochefort....and....one of the 100 homes, 250...of the 15th light...having already....for the army of Santo Domingo. It seems more suitable to take these detachments in the 3rd battalion of the 37th, which is in Nantes Nd which being a post of two thousand homes, will be able to support this approach without...I salute you"
This was in reference to him leading the French Revolution while he was the first consul of France and in 2 years was the first emperor of France. It then was signed in his full "Bonaparte" signature which is exceedingly scarce.

The document was signed May 20th, 1802 which is a significant date for Napoleon and the French revolution. On this date Napoleon reestablished slavery in French colonies which is a dark day in the French Revolution. However, Napoleon admitted saying that reestablishing slavery was his greatest regret.

Overall the document is in incredible shape for how old it is. The writing is beautiful and is fully authenticated by JSA.
